Working in Events During A Pandemic

August 12, 2020

What’s it like working in events during a pandemic? In this episode, host Reyna Caraveo and guest Emily Hume discuss the struggles of remaining in work, finding motivation, and sustaining clientele.

While many have focused on conversations related to business owners in the industry, layoffs and furloughs, not much has been talked about the experience for those who remained in work supporting those businesses. Emily Hume from Make Events based in Manchester, UK is sharing her experience about working in events during a pandemic.

In this episode we discuss:

  1. The struggles of remaining in work while other staff members and co-workers have been furloughed or laid off.
  2. How to maintain motivation to continue work when feeling overwhelmed.
  3. How to grow and sustain clients during this time with little support.
  4. The Live Events Coalition efforts to support the event industry in the long term.
