What Everyone Says About Event Planning

Have you ever thought about joining the event planning business? Whether you’re a day of coordinator, or an event designer to everything in between, there are things about the industry that don’t always get shared. In this episode of The Event Umbrella we’re giving you a peek behind the curtain as to what it really looks like to be in the event planning business. Being an Event Planner is not always what people think!

Read on for the top 3 things people say about event planning, and why most of them are not entirely true. (Better yet, hit the play button above!)

“That sounds like fun!”

Event planning can be fun, if it’s done right. Producing a successful event is rewarding and fun especially when you get to implement your creative side too! Volunteering or assisting with other events in the area, and stepping outside of your comfort zone can also be fun and different for you. Embrace a change of pace!

“It’s always parties!”

Event planning is consistently ranked as one of the top most stressful jobs. Realistically, you’re not always partying because you have to be focused on running an event, and it takes a lot of work to make it right. Professionalism is key!

“You can make your own schedule and work whenever you want.”

Although most planners are solo entrepreneurs, you still have to meet deadlines and work with demanding clientele as an event planner. Planners are simultaneously working on several events at a time, so having a consistent work schedule can really optimize your productivity! Essentially, you can create a flexible schedule, but there is still work to be done.
