Referrals and Reviews, It’s How We Build Our Business

October 23, 2019

How to build your business in the events industry

How to Build Business in the Events Industry

Have you recently found yourself brainstorming different ways to build your business in the events industry? Getting referrals and reviews is critical for event professionals, and a great way to get started!

In this episode, your host Reyna Caraveo and guest Adrien Lappe discuss how helpful it is for event industry professionals to get referrals and reviews to build their business.

In this episode:

  • When to ask for reviews from clients AND vendors
  • Why replying to reviews matters
  • Don’t be alarmed if it’s not a perfect 5 star review
  • The power of word-of-mouth
  • Referrals from clients and vendors and how to get more of them
  • Why it’s important to give and get referrals and reviews

It can be so easy as a work from home entrepreneur to never leave the house to give you any opportunity to meet new people. One of the things we talked about in this episode is the power of in-person networking, and how that can grow your referrals hugely. An easy way to do this is to take your work to a local coffee shop. Get to know the baristas and other regulars who stop by. You never know if they may be your next client or referral.

Learning how to grow your business in the events industry can seem overwhelming at times. By simply asking for referrals and reviews, you can gain the clients you’re looking to add to your calendar. One of the best ways to get more referrals and reviews from vendors is to give what you’re hoping to get. If you loved getting to work with a certain vendor, be sure to give referrals and a review without even being asked. You’ll be able to build that relationship, and start collaborating in the future.
